Another warm week bought the runners of Boston to events far and wide! Wednesday evening saw the Bolingbroke Breaker 10K take place in Old Bolingbroke at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The weather was perfect for the running of this relaxed race tackling the hills and 12 runners took the colours of BCR to take part. It was a good event giving runners chance to meet up with friends from all the local running clubs and although the organisers ran out of chocolate bars for the finishers they did promise double at the next event! The Black and Yellow stripes all put in good times and everyone was pleased with their results. The times were Dan Clark 40.59, Martin Tebbs 43.34, Jake Fountain 44.53, Ian Ruddock 46.40, John Burton 47.47, Simon Pickwell 49.20, Anthony Bretton 53.28, Kim Pittam 54.09, Dan Simpson 55.18, Tanya Knight 58.33, Rachel Conway 58.33 Sarah Burton 62.57.
The weekend saw Tanya Knight over at Belvoir near Grantham for another of the testing Tough Mudder events. Obstacles, mud, water and hills give these events their hardcore title and along with fellow Bostonian Katie Cooper they conquered the course once again.
Nicola Housam was a parkrun tourist and took part in the free timed 5k event down in Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall. Getting to the event involved a ferry crossing which added to the day meanwhile 'across the bigger pond' in New York City, Gary Beck-Sykes wore the colours of Boston Community Runners around the famous Central Park.
In Nottingham the Open Water Sprint Triathlon was held where competitors could qualify for team GB. Fran Mills, a strong BCR runner also competes in Triathlon for Boston Triathlon Club and the weekend saw a superb performance along with other members of BTC. Fran had a super event and was very pleased with the times she achieved in each discipline.
