Where to find us and when! Come along and meet us, you do not need to be a member to run with us!

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.50pm for a 7pm start will find us at Peter Paine, Rosebery Ave, Boston, unless stated otherwise, for group runs / jeffs / walks of varying distances and abilities to take us round our fabulous town.  We usually have a 10k (ish), a 7k (ish) and a 5k (ish) route ready to use which is announced on the Facebook page that morning. Everyone joins in whether you are running, jeffing or walking with purpose, same time, same place. We are one group together. No one is ever left behind on our relaxed social runs so please come along, we think you'll enjoy this refreshing approach to running clubs. We even get you up and running! From couch to 5k and beyond so even if you are thinking of getting into running but don't know where to start, we can help you out. You don't need to pay, you don't need to sign up, you can belong to another running club or just be visiting our fine town. If you fancy a run, come along! You'll also find our most up to date posts on our Facebook page (see the home page here for the link).

There are now parkrun events each Saturday in countries all around the world. Each event is based in a unique location like a park, beach or promenade. All events are organised by a group of  wonderful dedicated volunteers. parkrun is all about inclusiveness and wellbeing. parkrun want as many people as possible to feel part of a real local community brought together by these events, as well as the global parkrun family. It’s why parkruns are never more than 5km – it’s a distance that anyone can complete (even if some of us are walking) and you are never left behind. parkrun always has a volunteer Tail Walker who is always last home.

The format of parkrun so simple: register once, then turn up and take part wherever you want, whenever you want.

You can read more about the Boston parkrun here including the location details and you can register for parkrun here so you are ready to take part.

If you are still a little concerned about joining in why not just pop down on a Saturday morning to watch and cheer the runners, joggers and walkers on their way, you will get that feel good factor by just watching so why just imagine what it would be like to take part.

Sunday, when folk are not taking part in events or races,  usually brings along a "Sunday Runday" where members will put a run up on the Facebook page as an open invite to come along for a run.

I don't think I'd be able to run........ I don't think it's for me!

I have weak  ankles!........ I have weak knees!

“I went along to a Couch to 5K with a group of friends and ran for a whole minute in that first lesson.... gasping for air I thought oh lordy, what have I signed up for here. The lessons came and went, gradually building up in time running and before I knew it the weeks had flown by, the course had come to an end and I could run for 30 minutes without stopping. YES, 30 minutes without stopping!! I couldn't run to the end of my drive when I started! So where am I now? I have run the Boston Half Marathon on the first anniversary of doing that first one minute of running and have taken part in lots of 10k races, as well as most Saturdays running or volunteering in our local parkrun. As well as this I have gained some true friends and explored, through running, our wonderful part of Lincolnshire. I'm not fast, I challenge myself, and I feel great for doing it. For anyone who may feel shy or nervous about joining a running group there is really no need. This is the friendliest and most welcoming bunch of runners you could hope to meet. ”
